Guest rooms at the 5 star Qualmark rated Te Waonui Forest Retreat have been designed with both comfort and environmental preservation top of mind. Double glazing and best practice insulation vastly improve the energy efficiency of each room, as well as helping to create a quiet, warm cosy feel.
Rooms are a generous size ranging from 28 – 33sqm and are located in four separate accommodation wings; known as Kahikatea, Totara, Rimu and Matai, all linked by covered walkways. The hotel offers a choice of bedding and bathroom configurations with rooms comprising either Super King or two Queen Beds. Special attention has been given to guest bedding by adding soft woollen underlays and plush down and wool duvets for extra comfort. Most rooms have large walk-in showers, but many also feature baths either with a separate shower or combined.

The appropriately named Canopy Restaurant offers sumptuous breakfast and dinner menus. An international buffet breakfast with cook-to-order egg station ensures guests' tastes are personally catered to. The five course degustation menu, created from the freshest West Coast and South Island produce, means dinner guests enjoy a complete food experience.
Seating up to 120 inside and 24 guests alfresco style on the outside covered balcony means the Canopy Restaurant can easily cater to individual or group needs. The open fire, natural colours and organic textures add further ambience and warmth to this most welcoming environment.
