Great hotel. The hotel staff can’t do enough for you. They want to make your stay the best it can be.
THE ART OF SERENITY. THE PRIDE OF HERITAGE.
Hotel de la Paix Luang Prabang is an uncommonly rare resort experience; a century-old French fort and World Heritage wonder, a colonial moment preserved in amber, and a showcase of award-winning contemporary design. It is also a living gallery, with world class exhibitions by our Art Ambassadors and Guest Artists.
All of Hotel de la Paix’s 23 luxury suites are housed within the restored UNESCO Heritage colonial buildings, designed to send you back to the future, seamlessly interweaving colonial heritage and contemporary chic. Traditional Lao accents, bold flourishes, elements of wow and whimsy, complemented with private walled gardens, or private plunge pools.
Capacious sofas and armchairs, opulent bed linens, rain showers and outsized indoor-outdoor bathtubs cosset you in comfort. HD Flatscreen TV, iPod and WiFi are on hand for the rare moments you will allow the modern world to intrude.
In the heart of the former royal capital of Laos, just 23 spacious suites distinguished by the 'world's best luxury hotel interior design'* await, some with large private pools, all with sun-dappled walled gardens. Find your peace.

The Governor’s Suite is the Hotel de la Paix’s piece de resistance, distinctive, grand, capacious and the last word in pampered peace and privacy.
Soaring ceilings, generous sitting and dressing areas, indoor-outdoor bathrooms, expansive garden, glorious sun terrace and all the luxury amenities you would of course expect are at your disposal.
At 46-56sqm, our Garden Suites are impressively spacious – and that’s before you get to the green spaces for which they are named. Each opens out onto a terrace and private high-walled garden, where the creep of ivy measures indolent days.
High ceilings, cosy nooks, in-suite alfresco dining, sun lounges and daybeds await. Lavish bathrooms offer vanities, a dressing area, shower and large bathtub.
The Heritage Suites are housed within the restored UNESCO colonial buildings, with the suites comprising approximately 52sqm, excluding the large outdoor area.
Featuring spacious landscaped gardens with individual daybeds, their outdoor terraces ensure privacy for civilized garden repasts and sun-dappled dozing.
Pool Suites are set in the 4 corners of the grounds, which gives each a large L-shaped garden and ample space for their private pools and sun loungers. These are ideal for privacy seekers, and 2 have a former watchtower where you can dine à deux on request.
Indulgence, in Hotel de la Paix’s view, is about savouring life’s pleasures in balance. Our pleasure is introducing our guests to new culinary adventures that are unique and authentic.

The Kaipen Restaurant
|
Kaipen has a delicious-sounding daily menu (sadly it wasn't open when we stayed) - the likes of chicken skewers with a papaya salad, beef curry with lotus seed, and coconut milk tapioca with seasonal fruit. All restaurant food can be served in your suite on request, or at a candlelit table in your private garden. |
Sabai Lounge & Library
|
Where international favourites, traditional Laos dishes and fine wines are served in exceptionally relaxed surroundings. |

Swimming Pool
|
Immerse yourself in the bewitching lavender glitter of our swimming pool. Laze on a shaded daybed as you contemplate cocktails and the wildflowers in the courtyard. |
Spa
|
The spa is impressive, with far-ranging and reasonably priced treatments. The menu includes facials, manicures, pedicures, wraps, scrubs and traditional massages. |
Hotel de la Paix Luang Prabang is the canvas upon which dream weddings are waiting to be painted, from the moment we pick you up from the airport in a charming vintage Citroen or Mercedes-Benz. To turn vows into wows, consider the possibilities of this truly unique and utterly romantic resort. For pure romance, a ceremony amidst the wildflowers and elegant colonial architecture of the hotel’s courtyard.
