Fairmont The Queen Elizabeth is excited to unveil its upcoming renovation project, a transformation into a contemporary lifestyle space with a mix of 1960’s classic style, complete with modern technologies and amenities. This $140 million investment by Ivanhoé Cambridge will commence in June 2016. To execute the renovations, the hotel will be closed for 12 months starting mid-June 2016. The hotel will reopen in June 2017. All the common areas and about 500 guest rooms will be ready in time for the celebrations marking the 375th anniversary of Montreal and the 150th anniversary of the Canadian Confederation. The rest of the rooms will be completed by December 2017. The hotel will offer additional suites; expanded Fairmont Gold rooms and lounge; an inspiring new business hub and meeting space; a signature bar, restaurant and market kitchen; a wellness centre and indoor pool; an outdoor terrace; and a vibrant lobby event space.
