Great place to stay in Damaraland! Very friendly staff, comfy rooms, huge pool and opportunity to walk through savannah!

First Class Hotel. 20km east of Khorixas on the C39. The lodge at the gates of Damaraland is ideally suited for excursions to Twyfelfontein (130 km), the Petrified Forest (55 km) and the Vingerklip rock stack (50 km).
Like an African kingdom of old, Damara Mopane Lodge is constructed in a semi-circle of interlinking pathways leading to a generous pool at its heart. Innovatively designed, each chalet looks out on its own garden planted with seasonal vegetables. Sunflowers watching the travelling sun peep out between verdant spinach and beetroot, and zany scarecrows scattered throughout the gardens smile happily to the sky. They add their character to the enchanting setting, creatively designed by architects, visionaries and landscape artists.
Each of the 55 double room chalets (with air conditioning) sits in a vegetable and herb garden surrounded by a low wall. The gardens supply fresh ingredients for supper, which consists of a hot starter followed by a delicious platter.
The restaurant is decorated with replicas of the Twyfelfontein engravings and scenes from the local village life. A large veranda surrounded by shady mopane trees allows for al fresco dining.
There is a swimming pool for chilling out and a viewing point for relishing sunsets and the star-studded night sky.
The welcoming lobby houses the check in counter and leads on to the bar and the outside entertaining area.
