Elephant House is a comfortable lodge just 8km from the main entrance of Addo Elephant National Park in the Eastern Cape of South Africa. It offers a very homely, country-style ambience and its location in the fertile Sundays River Valley is well-suited as a base for different activities, both inside and outside Addo Park.
Elephant House consists of seven standard rooms and one family unit. The wide verandas (filled with comfortable sofas) forming a series of courtyards are a defining feature, whilst the décor of Elephant House evokes Colonial and African images and is furnished with the owners private collection of antiques, Persian rugs and Africana art. The spacious bedrooms open onto courtyards and private verandas. Each thatched room comes with air-conditioning and heating and has a king-size bed in a bedroom. The spacious en-suite bathroom provides a hairdryer and bathrobes.

In addition to the famous elephants of Addo the park also has lion, black rhino, buffalo, hyena, jackal and a variety of antelope whilst over 165 species of birds have been recorded as well as the flightless dung beetle which is almost endemic to Addo.

Breakfast is served daily and light lunches can be taken on the terraces or by a pool. In the evening, 3-course candlelit dinners are accompanied by Cape wines. 24-hour room service is available.
