This vast park is home to many varieties of animals including lions, elephants, Uganda kob, leopards, giraffes, chimpanzees, and hippos. Equally diverse is the terrain of the park that consists of flat grasslands, dense tropical forests, wooded savannahs, swamps and wetlands, and the wide expanse of the Victoria Nile that cuts through the park and sets the scene for a spectacular wildlife show that does not take place anywhere else in Africa!
Because Uganda is located so close to the Equator, temperatures here are almost constant throughout the year. There are two prominent seasons here: a rainy season and a dry season. In some parts of the country, there are two rainy and two dry seasons.
However, the rains are light around Kidepo Valley and Murchison Falls national parks; they won’t upset your itinerary. And whatever others might say, the dry season in Uganda is never oppressively hot. You won’t be uncomfortable being out in the open. But to visit Murchison Falls and Kidepo Valley National Park, you should plan your holiday to Uganda keeping in mind the seasonal habits and movements of the birds and the beasts. After all, you are here for them!
