Kidepo Valley National Park

Not many people come here, which means  you can enjoy the dramatic natural beauty without your views getting obstructed

Kidepo Valley National Park is located in one of the more remote reaches of Uganda, and its remoteness is its prime appeal. Not many people make the journey to the park, which is a pity. But this means that you can enjoy the dramatic natural beauty region and the abundant reserves of wildlife without your views getting obstructed by teeming camera-toting tourists.

The silence here is deafening. The primeval jungles here are home to a number of endangered species of animals. The scenic beauty here is a sight for the city-weary eyes and a balm for the mind that has so long been caught in the urban frenzy.

Because Uganda is located so close to the Equator, temperatures here are almost constant throughout the year. There are two prominent seasons here: a rainy season and a dry season.

In some parts of the country, there are two rainy and two dry seasons. However, the rains are light around Kidepo Valley and Murchison Falls national parks; they won’t upset your itinerary. And whatever others might say, the dry season in Uganda is never oppressively hot. You won’t be uncomfortable being out in the open. But to visit Murchison Falls and Kidepo Valley National Park, you should plan your holiday to Uganda keeping in mind the seasonal habits and movements of the birds and the beasts. After all, you are here for them!
