Cradle Mountain

Located at the northern end of the Cradle Mountain-Lake St Clair National Park, Cradle Mountain is one of Tasmania's most visited natural attractions.

With its ancient rainforests and alpine heaths, Cradle Mountain is home to the world-famous Overland Track and iconic Cradle Mountain. The park is one of the state's most beautiful locations on the island and is part of the Tasmanian Wilderness World Heritage Area. Rising to an upturned crescent ridge where ancient pines fringe glacial lakes and icy streams cascade down rugged mountains, the view is so perfect, it almost looks artificial. This destination is a photographers paradise and best-known of Tasmania’s wilderness regions.
