If you’re interested in exploring the town of Kampot, there’s a movie theatre where you can rent a private room and then choose from hundreds of movies to watch. If you’re ready for some adventure, rent a motorbike and follow the road into the countryside to discover and tour a pepper plantation. Kampot is recognised for growing some of the world’s best pepper which is exported internationally. You might even find a fruit farm where they specialize in growing durian, a particularly fragrant, or, as some describe it, a somewhat stinky, fruit. Be sure to book a sunset cruise down the river where you’ll also get to see fireflies. Kampot is also home to numerous markets including a new market, old market and night market. These are great places to try local food and to pick up some souvenirs.
