With its crystal-clear waters, lush green forests, and stunning beaches, Phuket is a paradise for nature lovers and beach enthusiasts alike. Visitors can enjoy a range of activities such as sunbathing on the sandy shores, exploring the lush jungle landscapes, and diving into the warm waters to discover the vibrant marine life. When you hear the word Thailand the first image that comes to your mind is the busy bustling scene of their capital Bangkok.
Sure it is a fantastic city to visit and all but if you are looking for the peace of mind but at the same time enjoy the Thai life then Phuket is the place to be. Phuket is the biggest island in Thailand, in the Andaman Sea of southern Thailand. Its location is such that it is covered by mountains on three sides.  There is actually a mountain range on its west that continues from the north to south.  The island has the highest growth rate for population in the country which goes to show how people are moving to Phuket to lead a better life.

So you are on a holiday in Phuket, where exactly do you go now? This is actually the best thing about Phuket; there are loads of places to go. Phuket is a tourist heaven that has ranges of places to visit. You can try visiting national parks, partakes in full jungle activities, hit the local clubs, try out the shopping malls and so many other places. If you are however feeling picky about where to go specifically then here are some of the most well known places in Phuket.

This here is a brilliant piece of art. Sat on top of the mountain, you can notice this huge 45 meter tall statue from almost anywhere from the west. It’s a must see if you are holidaying in Phuket.

If you don’t like the usual pubs and clubs then this is for you.  The old town will take you back in time. You can almost feel how things were run back centuries ago.  The place is filled with ancient statues and buildings with small cafes to keep you moving.

This has to be the trademark of Phuket holidays. If you visit Phuket but don’t visit Phang Nga Bay then im afraid your trip is incomplete. This is arguably the most beautiful place on this country as you will find out travelling with the boat. Venture through the caves and see some fantastic lagoons. The interesting aspect of this place is the limestone cliffs that pop right out of the emerald water. A must see site.

If you are done with the scenic beauty and want some partying going then Soi Bangla is the place for you. Contrary to popular beliefs Soi Bangla or Bangla Road isn’t your Thai version of the Sin City. You can sit back in these clubs and bars to relax, have a drink or two and enjoy the show. It’s basically full of life and off course girls. You can meet a lot of fellow tourist there too.

Thai boxing is fast gaining popularity all over the world. However there is no place better to watch this than Phuket. It’s the ultimate adrenaline pumping entertainment when you are holidaying in Phuket. These fighters are spectacular performers as well as being highly disciplined. Not only that, the crowd there is unique and the whole atmosphere makes you feel well alive.

Apart from all the sightseeing and visiting all the historic places there are quite a few fun things to do in Phuket.  You can visit the countless beaches in Phuket to have a quality time with your family. Some of these beaches will offer you snorkeling which is a real fun thing to do. You can try parasailing as well and speaking from personal experience, it is a really thrilling thing to do. There are also quite a number of diving spots in Phuket so you can try deep sea diving as well. Speed boat rides and Jet Ski rides are other things too.

Phuket and Thailand in general is a food heaven for people of all places. There is a wide variety of food and the best part is they are all fresh and fat free. You can eat like all day and not feel bloated. The street foods are the best and you can eat without the worry of getting food poison.  BBQ corn on the cob on the beach is fantastic, especially when accompanied by a fresh fruit shake and barbecue chicken. From a personal point of view, if you are in Phuket for holidays then avoid the fancy big name restaurants and the international franchise. The local sea foods and the street food are something to experience.

Attractions

From beaches, to shows to nature- Phuket has attractions for everyone.

If it was up to me then I’d visit Phuket almost every alternate month.

It’s always holiday time in Phuket but there are certain months when it is at its peak.  During the peak times it may be hard to get hotel bookings and that also at their regular price. So make sure you go prepared or at least book ahead. During the dry seasons however the price and cost will be almost cut half. There will be discounts in every product and hotel charges too.

December to February: This quarter of the year marks the busiest period of Phuket and Thailand in general. People just love to visit Thailand for holidays during this time. The weather is pretty decent with no rainfall. The whole island is buzzing with activity and everything is available during this time. The downside however is that due to so many tourists flocking together; the roads are quite jam packed. It is hard to get hotel bookings and even if you do they charge you really high price.

March-April: Phuket celebrates its Thai New Year called Songkran during the month of April. It is a festive period and you are likely to enjoy it if you are in the festive mood. The weather is usually hot but with high chances of rainfall.

May to October:  These five months are the low season of Thailand holidays. In Phuket it is called the dry period with very little tourists coming. Tickets to Thailand are much cheaper. The hotels in Phuket offer variety of packages during this time. You can even stay in the big name hotels are half the regular price during this period. If you are looking to spend your vacation on Thailand on a tight budget then this is the right time.

November: This month starts to see the tourism business picking up. Tourists start to show up and nightlife and other activities begin to show life as well.  If you are looking to have a good time but don’t prefer crowds then November is the month to visit Phuket. From a personal experience Thailand is the ultimate country for a vacation. Phuket provides the scenic beauty and lots of activity if you want to have a memorable vacation. Whether you come with friends, family or even alone, Phuket will make sure that you head back home with lots of memories and stories to share.
