Fujeirah is probably the most picturesque emirate with stunning landscapes and mountainous backdrops
Fujeirah is something of an odd ball in the UAE. Unlike its 6 sister emirates, this is the only one which sits on the Gulf of Oman rather than the Arabian Gulf. Lying on the eastern end of the UAE and separated from the rest of the country by the Hajar mountains, Fujairah is actually up the coast from Suhar and Muscat in Oman. We would love to talk about everything that Fujeirah has to offer but unfortunately, there is going to a be a lot of white screen space on this page. The reality is that whilst Fujeirah is probably the most picturesque emirate with stunning landscapes and mountainous backdrops, there is little to do in Fujeirah except to relax and enjoy the scenery.

The adventure begins with the 2 hour drive from Dubai through a landscape that takes you through Ras Al Khaima and across the mountains to Fujairah. Fujairah offers the most secluded beaches in the UAE and the golden sands that sit on the waters of the Indian Ocean are simply breathtaking. Snorkelling and diving are the amongst the most popular past times for tourists on holiday in Fujairah. The most popular Fujeriah holiday activity is simply just enjoying the pool, beach luxury hotels and exquisite food on offer.
Fujairah does have an airport but with the only flights coming from Abu Dhabi, it does not act as much of gateway for the destination. Ras Al Khaima airport on the other hand is only a 1 hour drive from Fujairah and offers flights to and from Doha on Qatar Airways as well as regional flights from Cairo, Jeddah and Muscat. Road transfers from Sharjah airport take about 1 hour and 50 minutes. Sharjah airport has departures to over 30 international destination including flights on Qatar Airways from Doha. Road transfers from Dubai take about 2 hrs and 30 minutes and can be pre booked.
The Emirates of Fujairah is rich in archeological treasures some of which date back to about five centuries ago including castles, forts, towers and mosques. These forts and castles were used for defensive purposes in repelling invaders and maintaining the soil of the homeland and its identity
Like the rest of the United Arab Emirates, the weather gets very hot in the summer months of May- September.
That heat does not seem to deter the ever growing number of European tourists that head out to make the most of some of the most luxurious hotels in the world for bargain basement prices. Fujairah is incredibly cheap in the summer months, and some hotels even throw in a variety of free extras to lure tourists away from its more famous sister Emirate, Dubai. For the best weather, Fujairah is best visited between October and April with November – February offering some of the best weather the destination has to offer.
